its good to be back, and cline was in town, and Dave and Adele were still naive babes in the woods, so lewis and ange had us over for dinner. god i look tired. I need some more sleep.
all it takes is a little drink (or not in adele's case) for everyone to break out their heavy artillery. let the belly wars begin.

food running short, but refrigerator full, we resorted to casserole for breakfast.
the breakfast table looked like an internet cafe. you can tell we live in a modern world.
6 laptops, 8 smart phones (5 iPhones!), 4 iPods, and a router in a pear tree.

Everybody has their strategy, some work, some don't. Some only work against other equally warped strategies. Obscure strategies change the nature of the game. Witness Enzo and Adrian playing the Boardwalk and Park Place strategy. It had Adele puzzled if not a little entertained.

Dave brought his camera gear, we played around with remote triggering his flash (Canon Speedlite 430EX) with my master (Canon Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2). I originally bought the ST-E2 for its AF-assist beam so I could shoot in extremely low light conditions, but using it for its intended purpose was also very cool. I ended up holding the flash in my left hand while shooting with my right. The flexibility of the rig makes for infinite lighting possibilities, none of which i fully explored. It did make night into day, the change in temperature being my main complaint, will have to get a set of gels or something.

Modern gangsters and dolls, Hip hop rules the world. Or is it now called "locking". I'm so behind the times.
City Dance put on a great show for friends and family at Fort Mason' Cowell theatre. We went to see Adele perform, and enjoy the show. The production was professional with excellent lighting and a vibrant audience. Shout outs were de rigueur with the crowd overpowering the sound system on occasion.
The Hive performance on red background was awesome, more modern than hip hop.
Lots of asians, I was astounded by all the boys and their style. Next time I encounter a group of asians in a dark alley I'll think twice about throwing down my moves and starting a dance off.

Saturday started out good and got better. Met Cline and Avery before dawn to surf cold offshores. Lewis and Dave joined in along with a thousand of our friends. Absolutely freezing but nice. Retreated to Lewis and Ange's to hang out by the fire, trying desperately to raise my core temp above 52 degrees farenheit. Warm feet, warm heart.
Hurley sample sale went off without a hitch, and it was time to surf again.
Second session was even better, head high offshore peaks that broke in long reeling lines. Easy to slide into, and doubling up on the inside bar. Paddled into my best wave since Chile. A well overhead picture perfect left with not a drop of water out of place. Rode it to the inside with the lip feathering overhead. Perfection. Life should be so easy. Reminded me why I started surfing.
